“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
(John 1:14)

Thought for the day:

This is the Christmas wonder: “The Word became flesh”. Jesus, the Word, is God (John 1:1) And so here God “became flesh” – took on a human nature. Is this so familiar we cannot grasp its sublime wonder? God at that first Christmas eternally took on humanity. Jesus, eternally God, is still fully human, and will be unto the ages of the ages. We will behold, worship and delight in His contemplation forever, the One who took on our very nature in order that He might be this close to us. Happy Christmas everyone!

Today’s prayer:

O my wonderful Jesus, Word became flesh, God as human being, that You would come this near to us fills us with wonder. Your nearness is our infinite joy. Let us worship You with all our hearts forever and ever! Amen.
