By Faith Ford, St Peter’s and St James

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. They lived in a land of shadows, but now light is shining on them.”
(Isaiah 9:2)

Thought for the day:

Speaking 800 years before Christ’s birth, Isaiah prophesied the coming of a great light for people walking in darkness. Jesus was born in humility. He died for us and He is the Light of the World of whom Isaiah spoke. He can bring light in these dark times of pandemic.

Today’s prayer:

Lord, we ask that you will shine your great light upon our nation and our world as we experience the Covid-19 virus.
Give strength and wisdom to medical professionals, carers and vaccine researchers.
Bring healing to those who are ill and comfort to those who mourn this Advent time.
