“A Child is born to us! A son is given to us! And he will be our ruler. He will be called ‘Wonderful Counsellor’, ‘Mighty God’, ‘Eternal Father’, ‘Prince of Peace’”
(Isaiah 9:6)

Thought for the day:

If humankind was asked to find a solution to save ourselves, I wonder what it might have included. Peace discussions and treaties? Political rows? Elections for a leader for one nation? Fortunately we weren’t asked. God had a simple plan, one we would never have considered. He sent a baby, His own child – to be our prince of peace.

Today’s prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that you had the best plan to bring humankind back to yourself by sending Jesus as a vulnerable baby to our world. May we pray for, and support, all refugees and those born into poverty and political unrest this Advent and Christmas time.
